Hall Leadership

Community Coordinator

Community Coordinators maintain a safe and inclusive hall environment, through their support of students' intellectual, social, and emotional growth. Community Coordinators do this by staffing offices to ensure student safety and security, providing counseling on things such as homesickness to loss, and facilitating a variety of activities to foster a sense of community.

My name is Axel Battista (he/him/his) and I am the Community Coordinator for 2nd Beall.

I earned a BA in Secondary Education and English from UNC Greensboro in 2021, and am currently working towards my MA in English and Women's and Gender Studies at UNCG.

Some fun facts about me:

At my side is my cat, Dorian Grei, who is lovingly nicknamed 'Mamas.'

Julianna Savage

Hey y’all!

My name is Julianna Savage (She/Her) and I was born and raised in the mountains of Western NC in Hendersonville. Before coming to NCSSM, I danced for 13 years, 10 of which were competitively at Releve Performing Arts Center in my hometown. I was also a member of the dance team at my home high school (East Henderson High School).  I have played the French horn for six years in school, including the Symphonic band here at NCSSM. Last year, I really enjoyed continuing my passion in dance by participating in the three cultural fests held on campus and by being a member of the NCSSM dance team. This year, I will be an Enthalpy Captain, which is the hip hop dance club here on campus that performs at all three cultural fests, along with Vogue Captain, which performs at Africafest. I was also a swimmer on the Swim Team and a thrower on the Track team here at NCSSM. When I am not dancing, I love to work out, read my favorite fantasy novels, keep up with current events, and hang out with my friends. When I am home, I enjoy visiting my favorite places in Asheville and experiencing the beauty of the mountains. I am interested in studying climate sciences in college and then going to law school to become an environmental lawyer. I look forward to getting to know all of y’all, assisting you in any way that I can as RLA, and helping you to make the most of your time at NCSSM.
