An Open Gym is when a hall reserves the gym facilities and can do whatever they please with that time - play volleyball, utilize the weight or cardio rooms, or dance their hearts out in the Dance Studio! Tonight, however, rival halls 2nd West and 2nd East were playing the pivitol game Skyball in the Wrestling room, and 2BL just couldn't help but jump in! If you don't know what Skyball is, it's like ultimate four square, and incredibly fun to watch!
Each fall and Halloween season, 2BL conducts a month long contest to see which door on hall is the most festive! The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place doors get a prize, and bragging rights!
In the Lecture Hall this chilly Thursday evening, residents from all three Beall halls gathered to sing their lungs out to K-Pop Demon Hunters, Wicked, Frozen, and so much more!
You should have heard their lovely voices... in fact, right here, you can!
Such a glorious choir, don't you think?
A favorite from last year, and looking like a repeat event! 2BL took a trip out to one of our graduated resident's family farm, Firefly Farm!
"A sprawling 26 acres of rolling hills, friendly animals, beautiful flowers (and more flowers), and the highest quality fruits, vegetables, and a nut or two, grown using sustainable farming methods."
During October, they have the "Witch’s Haunted Barn," drinks and snacks, & a Pumpkin Patch!

Fall, Halloween, and everything spooky are favorites of 2nd Beall, and we celebrated with an IVIS! Students decorated their doors, the lounge, and the hall to celebrate the season, and invited all their friends to come check out our hall and their rooms! Ducks are also a favorite on hall, so there was a scavenger hunt for tiny plastic ducks, swans, stars, and lady bugs!! (And, as you can see, I've stepped up my Canva game, too, to make photo updates EVEN BETTER!)
On this warm September Wednesday, 2nd Beall and 2nd Bryan gathered in the PFM after check for some tasty grilled cheeses, and discussed the best way to make them! Are you a mayo or a butter on the bread kind of person? What's the best kind of cheese to use? How crispy should the bread be?? All valid questions, and to each their own!
1st Beall and 2nd Beall are not so distant neighbors. But tonight, we were (friendly) dodgeball foes... and what a time it was!!
On this lovely Wednesday evening, the night after classes began, 2nd Beall gathered in the newly renovated 1st Hill lounge to enjoy some pancakes, cooked to perfection with blueberries, chocolate chips, and syrup all for the taking!
On this rainy Tuesday, Juniors and Seniors alike gathered in the Auditorium for Convocation! This is a time to celebrate all the accomplishments thus far, and get excited and celebrate the beginning of this school year! After the ceremony, 2nd Beall gathered on Royall Porch to take Hall Photos! Thankfully, we beat the rain!
In the days leading up to Junior and Senior Move In, our RLAs and Senior Leaders work hard to create and post the lovely decor you see on hall! They also take time to learn about campus procedures, policies, responsibilities of their position and more, and it really is a great time on campus full of laughter, paper cuttings, learning, and fun!
